Moving Forward in Faith

June 6, 2022 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

For you, Lord, are kind and ready to forgive, abounding in faithful love to all who call on you. —Psalm 86:5

Several years ago, I experienced a season of unbelief that lasted the better part of a year. When I walked out of that time into repentance,

God brought me to Numbers 13–14. As I read through this passage and saw what God thinks about unbelief, I was grieved at how I had dishonored the Lord and forfeited much of His blessing because I didn’t walk in faith.

Throughout my life, God has shown Himself faithful more times than I can count. Yet I had been focused on the problems rather than on His presence, His promises, and His power. I asked for His forgiveness for reflecting neg- atively on Him and dishonoring Him through unbelief. I was also incredibly grateful for His mercy. Because unlike the children of Israel, God has not shut me out of the Promised Land.

He’s not shut you out either. As long as you’re alive, there’s still time to exercise faith and move forward.

Make it Personal

Ask God for forgiveness for any ways you’ve let unbelief direct your actions and for His help to walk in faith going forward.
