Hope in the Storm

December 20, 2021 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness. —Psalm 29:2

As you think about the storms you or someone you love is facing, I would encourage you to read and meditate on the words of Psalm 29:10–11. Pray the words over your life (or that person you love) and choose to believe them by faith:

The LORD sits enthroned over the flood;
the LORD sits enthroned as king forever.
May the LORD give strength to his people!
May the LORD bless his people with peace!

Ask God to give you strength in your weakness and bless your life with peace. Pray that He would give you comfort, quietness, and calm in the midst of the chaos.

Then thank Him for His promises, for He is faithful and true. No matter what you’re going through, He has promised to hold you fast. He is good, and He can be trusted to write your story in this season and the ones to come.

Make it Personal

How can you hold on to the truths of Psalm 29 when you’re going through difficult times?
