Grace Upon Grace

December 16, 2021 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. —Psalm 77:11

If we want the strength and peace that Psalm 29 talks about, we need to anchor our hearts in what we know about God and His ways. What we’ve told ourselves and others in years past, we remind ourselves of when the calamities of life come.

I was texting with a friend about this, talking about the chaotic and catastrophic things happening in her world. Even though there was no immediate relief on the horizon, she said, “I have pages and pages of answered prayers and gratitude notes in my prayer journal during this time. God is really pouring out grace upon grace!”

Could you say the same thing about what you’re going through? Think back to the ways God has answered your prayers and poured out grace upon grace in your life.

If you’ve not been writing down the things you’re grateful to God for, now might be a good time to start. Do it before you forget some of those blessings in the middle of the storms.

Make it Personal

Write down several things that you are thankful for—on post-it notes around your home, in a journal—to help remind you of God’s grace.
