Resurrection

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: That first Good Friday didn’t seem “good” to those who witnessed the death of Jesus on the cross.

Darkness and defeat hung in the air. It appeared that Satan had won, as the Son of God breathed His last. But that illusion didn’t last long.

Jesus defeated death by dying and then coming back to life. When all hope seemed lost, and evil seemed to get the final word, Christ rose from the dead. The miracle of miracles! That's why we can look back on Good Friday as truly good. Not only did Jesus take all our sins upon Himself as He was pierced on that cross, but through His resurrection, He gave us hope for eternal life.

When our circumstances look bleak, when we’re tempted to despair, or when we face glaring pain, we have bright hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The resurrection changed everything. God gets the final word.

With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
