Called to Holiness
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: What images come to your mind when I say holiness?
Woman 1: “Someone who’s a little strange.
Woman 2: Judgmental attitudes.
Man: A boring person who keeps a lot of rules.
Nancy: If that’s all holiness is, then who wants it? The truth is, holiness is about more than following a list of rules. It’s not something we manufacture by sheer willpower. True holiness is always about a relationship. It’s a loving response to the God who loves us and created us to be close to Him.
In Ephesians, the apostle Paul says, “Walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called” (4:1).
We’ve been called into a relationship. God’s love inspires us to reject sin and to find our deepest satisfaction in Him.
Is anything interfering with your relationship with God? If so, would you repent and make it right? Let’s live in a way that reflects our love for Him.
With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
