Write a New Story A Daily Choice

January 1, 2024 Erin Davis

“Look, I am about to do something new; even now it is coming. Do you not see it?” —Isaiah 43:19

I just love a good story. And as much as I adore closing the book on a great tale, I love turning a fresh page on a new one even more.

As we closed the book on 2023, some of us may have felt like we’d finished a great book. Others are glad last year is over. If our lives are like a story, last year may have felt like a tragedy. But today a new year begins. It’s a chance to let God write a brand-new story with your life.

In fact, today would be a great day to:

• Drop a habit that you know isn’t God-honoring.
• Commit to read the Bible every day.
• Love someone who’s hard to love.
• Forgive someone (even if they don’t deserve it).
• Memorize a Bible verse you want to focus on this year.

Think of 2024 like a blank page. The best thing to do is to hand God the pen and to ask Him to write His story in your life this year.
