Walk Wisely

August 22, 2022 Portia Collins

Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk—not as unwise people but as wise—making the most of the time. —Ephesians 5:15–16

Lately I’ve felt the weight of using my time wisely. I’m constantly asking, “How does God want me to use my time and resources? How can I use them in a way that’s most glorifying to Him?”

I want to live in a way that reflects profitability for God’s glory, not my own. I don’t want to be bound by fear, loss, or discomfort. I pray that with every faithful, risk-taking step I make, I will remember my loss is God’s gain. I realize I have no clue what this will look like from a practical standpoint. There’s no detailed map for what my next move will be.

But I don’t have to know all these things. God hasn’t called me to be all-knowing, all-powerful, or ever-present; He’s called me to be faithful. I can rest assured knowing that on the other side of faithfulness is the all-knowing, all-powerful, and ever-present God holding me tightly in His hand. In Him, nothing will be wasted.
