Trusting God's Providence

October 10, 2021 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure. —Psalm 147:5

Another area where I think we’re prone to concern ourselves in things too high for us has to do with the providence and choices of God for our lives. We might be able to accept that we won’t comprehend everything about theology, but when it comes to the circumstances in our lives that don’t make sense, we feel like we have to understand it all.

If you feel you have to make sense of everything going on in your life, you will drive yourself crazy trying. You cannot fathom the providence and the choices of God for your life.

God has a plan that cannot be thwarted by anything. He will fulfill His purposes in this world—and all His plans for you. Even when you can’t see it, God is there. His work is hidden from our sight many times, but He is always acting on behalf of His people and His glory. When you cannot see the hand of God, trust His heart and know His providence is always working on your behalf.

Make it Personal

What’s going on in your life right now that’s hard to understand? Ask God for a quiet heart that trusts in His providence.
