The True Goal

“Then you shall know that I am the Lord.” —Ezekiel 37:14

What’s the end result of the work of the Spirit of God in our hearts? Is it so we can be the triumphant majority in government? So we can look good to the world? So we can be happy, peaceful, and joyful?

The true goal is that the world will know that He is the Lord. This is what we need to live for. Our world is clueless about who God really is. It’s not just because of all the false teaching out there (though that doesn’t help) but because of the dry bones in so many of our Christian churches. Our lives don’t look any different than the dry bones of the world. As believers, we may know a lot about Him, but far too often we’re not experiencing the living, vibrant power of God.

When God’s Spirit breathes His life into His people, His glory and beauty will be revealed not only to us but to those who have no idea who He is. They need to see the power of God on display through the people of God.

Make it Personal

When others look at your life, do they see dry bones or the power of God? Ask God to help His glory be revealed through you.
