Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. —Matthew 4:1
Ezekiel 37 reminds me of Matthew 4, where Jesus was tempted by the devil in the wilderness. There He experienced something that seemed awful, ugly, and difficult. But it was the Spirit of God who led Him there.
If you are a child of God, the Lord’s hand is on you as it was on Ezekiel. As you go out into the places He calls you to, you will be led by His Spirit. You won’t be going in your own energy or strength but will be led and empowered by the Holy Spirit of God.
At times, you may find He’s set you in a valley. It might be your workplace, your school, your church, or even your home. And as you look around, you might see few, if any, signs of life.
Ezekiel’s valley of dry bones was an impossible situation—humanly speaking. But it wasn’t impossible for God. He was more than equal to the task, just as He is for any valley you find yourself in today.
