We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand. —Ephesians 2:10
Psalm 139:14 tells us that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” However, I wonder if we apply this Truth to others around us.
Do you believe this about your boss who drives you crazy? How about the person who cut you off in traffic? Or that guy who wounded your heart?
We can’t only focus on ourselves as fearfully and wonderfully made; we need to have the eyes to see it in others as well.
In fact, Ephesians 2:10 says we are His workmanship for the purpose of doing good works. That means we see the needs of others and we meet them. That’s why you are wonderful— because He wants you to be equipped to do things with that wonder.
If you forget that the person who hurt you is fearfully and wonderfully made, you will only feel the brokenness of your heart and theirs. God doesn’t want you to belittle yourself, but God doesn’t want you to belittle others either! It’s ugly, and it’s sin. Let’s stop!
Make it Personal
Ask God to open your eyes to everyone around you today, that you might see they are fearfully and wonderfully made.
