In Christ

Christ in you, the hope of glory. —Colossians 1:27

The small word "in" can pack a life-changing punch—especially when we’re found in Christ! According to Merriam-Webster, in means “someone or something belongs to or is included as part of something.”

Imagine a water glass and a pitcher. The pitcher is full, and you use it to fill the empty glass. The full glass of water can satisfy your thirst, but eventually it will be empty again.

Now, picture yourself placing the glass in the pitcher so the glass is immersed. You see the pitcher first, though the glass is there, inside. When water is poured out, it comes from a more extensive source than the glass itself. The water poured out is no longer limited to the capacity of the glass.

When we’re in Christ, He is seen first in us. In Him, we can draw from more than our own feeble resources, as we live in the capacity of who He is.

The most beautiful thing about being in Christ is that when I am in Him, this same Christ is in me. That, according to Paul, is the hope of glory!
