All the Difference in the World

February 25, 2024 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

Do you not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in your hand, and no one can stand against you. —2 Chronicles 20:6

If “Heaven rules” were nothing more than a comforting way of processing the news, this quality alone would make it invaluable. Think back to all that’s happened since 2020: COVID, a contentious election, racial strife, runaway inflation, the war in Ukraine—just to name a few.

This relentless deluge of disasters has exacted an emotional toll that most weren’t prepared for and left us with questions we’re not sure how to answer. Are we simply at the mercy of the next shoe drop? How are we to we handle more upsetting news? And how are we to deal with the pandemic of depression, despair, loneliness, and fear that’s gripped so many?

This is where it makes all the difference to affirm by faith what we cannot always see: that Heaven rules over everything, even over those things that threaten the world’s peace and well-being. God is sovereign over leaders, nations, the weather, and all the affairs of our world. Heaven rules over everything, everywhere.
