A Taste of Heaven

April 17, 2024 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

“In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?” —John 14:2

Did you know that Jesus is domestic? In John 14, Jesus describes what He’s doing right now—creating a peaceful, joyful home for us in His Father’s house where our hearts will never again be troubled. So, when we create welcoming homes where Christ is honored, we’re creating here on this earth a physical, visible reflection of an eternal, invisible reality. We’re giving people a taste of heaven.

This world is a messy, chaotic place. But we have the privilege of creating a home environment that makes people long for heaven. Whether married or single, our goal is to create a place, physically and spiritually, that beckons and welcomes people “Home.” A place that ministers to their needs—where they can find comfort, healing, rest, love, and a sense of belonging. A peaceful nurturing place where they can retreat to renew their hearts and be untroubled. A place that gives them a sense for how wonderful our eternal Home will be.
