Read through the Bible, Day 302

Good morning. Jesus foretells the destruction of the temple, the trials His followers will face, and the betrayal that will lead Him to the cross. Even as the hour of darkness approaches, He remains resolute, praying, “Not My will, but Yours be done.”

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Luke 21–22

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

When trials or betrayal come, where do you turn first for strength and perspective? Ask the Lord for grace to watch and pray so that you do not fall into temptation.

Jesus purposefully pointed His followers to Scripture for what they needed to know. —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
