In today’s passage, Ezra and the Levites read and explain God’s Law to the gathered people. As they listened, the people responded with joy and worship, celebrating the Feast of Booths in obedience to the Lord’s commands. Their renewed understanding of God’s Word led them to confess their sins, reaffirm their covenant with Him, and commit themselves afresh to walk in His ways.

Take a moment to recall specific ways you have seen the Lord’s grace and compassion in your life. How has He shown you mercy, provided for you, or drawn you closer to Himself?
"O Lord, please stir Your people to come together in earnest prayer, praise, confession, and supplication. You are a forgiving God, “gracious and compassionate.” May our pastors and shepherds lead the way and may we join them in humbly crying out to You, imploring You for mercy and grace. Amen." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1
