Read through the Bible, Day 132

When Asa sought the Lord with all his heart, revival and joy came to Judah. But later, when he relied on human help instead of God, he was reminded that our hope must always rest in God alone. Jehoshaphat honored the Lord and was blessed, yet even he learned that alliances made without God’s wisdom can lead to trouble.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

2 Chronicles 15–18

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

When making decisions—big or small—how can you pause and consider whether you’re trusting in the Lord or leaning on your own understanding?

"In his time of trouble, Asa trusted in the Lord. He cried out to God and, by His hand, routed the enemy. God honored Asa for his faith and affirmed His blessing on Asa’s leadership. Asa responded in humility, and the spiritual resolve of the nation was deepened." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
