Read through the Bible, Day 128

Today we begin the book of 2 Chronicles. As we step into the early days of Solomon’s reign, we see a king who didn’t first pursue power or wealth but instead sought God’s wisdom above all. Solomon faithfully followed God’s plan to build the temple, reminding us that when we prioritize God’s presence and purposes, we lay a foundation for blessing and fruitfulness.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

2 Chronicles 1–4

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

How can you align your plans and actions with God’s purposes rather than your own ambitions? In what ways might that shift the way you steward your time, talents, and resources?

"The longer you delay, the harder you resist, the more difficult it will be to obey God. Don’t hesitate a moment longer." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
