Read through the Bible, Day 127

In the final two chapters of 1 Chronicles, David prepared Solomon and the nation of Israel to continue God’s work, modeling faithful stewardship, generosity, and wholehearted service. His life is a reminder to use the resources, gifts, and opportunities God has given us to honor Him and to invest in the next generation for His kingdom.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

1 Chronicles 28–29

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

How are you investing in the next generation to help them grow in faith and service? What steps can you take today to ensure your life points others to Christ and leaves a lasting legacy of faith?

"If we really believe the kingdom is God’s, we will obey Him and surrender to Him as King. We will trust He is in control of all events in this world, as well as those of our own personal worlds. We will proclaim His kingdom, His reign, and His rule in every way possible." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
