Read through the Bible, Day 126

Today’s reading details how David organized both spiritual and civic life in Israel, assigning leaders for temple worship and for governing the nation. His example reminds us of the value of faithful stewardship and intentional preparation in every area God has entrusted to us.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

1 Chronicles 26–27

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

In what ways are you faithfully using your gifts to serve God’s people? How might you bring intentional order and preparation to the areas He has entrusted to your care?

"The obedience God asks of us is not cold, rigid, and dutiful. It is a warm, joyous, loving response to the God who loves us and created us to enjoy intimate fellowship with Him. It is the overflow of a heart that is deeply grateful to have been redeemed by God from sin." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
