Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: My husband and I recently wrote a book called You Can Trust God to Write Your Story. But what about trusting God to write someone else’s story? What if that other person is a child who’s broken your heart?
Your heart may be longing for a son, or daughter, or grandchild to return home to the Lord and to their family. Your child may be breaking your heart through sinful choices, and you might be tempted to pick up the pen and finish their story yourself! But you’re not the Author.
So what can you do? You can let God change you, even as you long for Him to change your child. You can pray. You can trust that God is not only writing your story; He’s also writing your child’s story. He loves that child more than you possibly could—and you can trust Him to do what is best for that child and what will bring the greatest glory to Himself in the end.
