Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: An elderly widow was present in the temple on that day when Mary and Joseph showed up with the infant Savior.
Man: There was a prophetess, Anna . . . and coming up at that very hour she began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Israel.
Nancy: Anna. Worshipper and witness. She loved God so much that even though her own marriage had been short, she’d given herself fully to the Lord for the remainder of her long life. So her immediate response when she recognized the Christ child was praise. Praise and witness. Anna couldn't keep to herself the news of what God was doing.
These are two great words to carry with us into a new year. Every day God gives us is an opportunity for worship and for witness. So let's keep singing, and let's keep sharing the songs of Christmas.
