Recording: This is Seeking Him with Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth. Please leave your question at the tone.
Woman: I hear you talking about developing a daily time alone with God. But I work until five, cook, clean, and then I’m exhausted. Why can’t I make more time for devotions?
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: If we’re serious about our relationship with the Lord, we’ve got to eliminate activities that keep us from the most important things.
Sometimes those decisions are pretty obvious. For a while, I used to turn on the TV when I got home at night—just for some noise and companionship. I ended up wasting precious hours every evening and realized my viewing habits had to change.
The writer of Hebrews tells us to “lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us.” Is anything weighing down your schedule? Is there anything keeping you from making a daily time with God one of your greatest priorities?
With Seeking Him, I'm Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
