Praise Brings His Glory
Choir: Praise, my soul, the King of heaven…
Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: So why should we praise the Lord? Well, one reason is that it brings us into the presence of God.
When King Solomon dedicated the temple, there was a massive choir along with 120 trumpets and other instruments. The choir sang, “The Lord is good; His love endures forever” (2 Chron. 5:13). During this praise service, we read that “the glory of the Lord filled the temple” (v. 14).
Just as God’s glory filled Solomon’s temple, He can fill us, too. We connect with Him, just as the Israelites did, through praise.
If you’re feeling spiritually dry—like your temple isn’t displaying much glory—try praising God. You don’t have to have a huge choir or 120 trumpets, but you do need a heart that praises Him. Remember, true praise takes us into the presence of God and brings down His glory.
