Plugging In

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Are you ever tempted to unplug from other believers?

Woman: I got tired of just jumping from church to church to church. Now it’s just me and God!

Nancy: Can you have an independent relationship with God without other people? Here’s the way I look at it. It would be pretty foolish to go walking alone late at night in a dangerous part of town. But it would be different if I were with a group that included some big guys who could protect me.

As I pursue holiness, I’m weak and have a lot of limitations, so God has put people in my life to protect me and help me grow. Disconnecting from God’s people, from the church, would make me as vulnerable as a sheep away from its flock.

As you grow in holiness, be sure you stay plugged in to the lives of believers in your local church. Their prayer and accountability can protect you when you’re weak.

With Seeking Him, I'm Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
