Seeking Him Podcast

Learning to Love

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: If you’ve ever prayed to become a more loving person, you may find that God answers that request in some unexpected ways.

Woman: Ugh! This new girl at work drives me crazy! I can’t stand being around her.

Nancy: You know, we’ll probably never fully learn to love unless there are some people in our lives that are hard to love. The apostle Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 13 that love is patient. It is kind. It’s not irritable. It’s not resentful. It bears all things.

So when difficult people come into our lives, true love doesn’t focus on how they affect us. God’s kind of love thinks about the other person and their best interests.

So the next time an irritating person comes into your life, remember, God may be giving you a chance to learn more about His love.

Woman: Lord, would you help me love her the way You love her?

With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
