Jesus was the real thing. He was perfectly holy and overflowing with joy. When we love Him and obey Him, we’ll be filled with joy, too. We’ll be free from the weight and burden of sin and able to obey the Scripture that says, “You shall be holy for I am holy” (1 Pet. 1:16).
Sin will rob us of everything that we truly enjoy. But when we’ve been forgiven, walking with our Lord in holiness, we’ll know the joy of having clean hands, a pure heart, and a clear conscience. Why settle for anything less?
