Eternal Resolutions

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: As we come to a new year, we like to think about ways the coming year could be better than the last one. That’s what New Year’s resolutions are all about. At this time of year, I like to review the resolutions of a wise man named Jonathan Edwards, who lived in the 1700’s. His resolutions encourage me to live my life in such a way that I am investing it for eternity.

Jonathan Edwards: Resolved to endeavor to obtain for myself as much happiness in the other world as I possibly can.

Edwards remembered the words of Jesus, who said, “Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.” He was determined to get this treasure,

Jonathan Edwards: ...With all the power, might, and vigor that I am capable of, in any way that can be thought of.

As you think about the coming year, what can you do to invest in eternal treasure, in the world to come?

With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth.
