Seeking Him Podcast

Enemies

Nancy Leigh DeMoss: Imagine the President of the United States visiting an army prison during the Iraq War. Imagine that he opened up a cell, saw a young enemy soldier, and told him he had just been pardoned. Not only that, but imagine the President could bring that prisoner to live with him in the White House and could choose to adopt him as his own son.

That sounds impossible, but it’s nothing compared to what God did for us. Romans 5 says that “while we were still enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son” (v. 10).

According to God's Word, I was His enemy. I was bent on rebellion against God—even as a little girl growing up in a Christian home. The Scripture says that when I was in that condition, God loved me. He loved you. He demonstrated that love in the supreme act of self-sacrifice. "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son."

That is the supreme measure and example of love.
