Are You a Feminist?

Nancy Leigh DeMoss: Author Mary Kassian says worldly thinking has permeated the church.

Mary Kassian: I think we have all been influenced by feminism—all of us. Some of the ideas that we accept as truth and as standard ideas have not come to us through our study of Scripture but have just come to us through culture.

Nancy: My friend Kim admits this was true the first fifteen years of her marriage.

Kim: I exemplified feminism, and I did not even realize it. I would have said I was not a feminist. I was submissive to my husband. If he told me to do something, I would do it. But I did not honor and respect my husband in my treatment of him.

Nancy: Perhaps you’d never call yourself a feminist either. But what do your words and actions communicate? A desire to control your husband? Or a heart for supporting and encouraging his leadership?
