Dannah Gresh: When Jesus took on a human body, He took on many of our weaknesses and limitations, too. According to Andrea Griffith, there’s comfort in that thought.

Andrea Griffith: Jesus has walked this road. He knows what it costs to be human in ministry. And He's not standing over us with a clipboard, asking us to get it all right, asking us to be above who He created us to be, finite beings. He's actually with us, full of compassion for all that we're juggling, all that we're walking with.

Questions Answered in This Episode

Why do we become overwhelmed when we try to do everything ourselves?

We can become overwhelmed when we try to take on qualities that belong to God alone. God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and everywhere at once, but we are finite. Trying to fix every problem, know every answer, and be there for everyone can lead to anxiety, exhaustion, and a lack of rest.

What can we learn from Jesus about accepting our limitations?

Jesus demonstrated dependence, humility, and a willingness to embrace limits during His earthly ministry. His example reminds us that limitations are not necessarily failures. We can depend on God for direction, humbly acknowledge what we do not know, and trust Him to continue working even when we cannot be everywhere or meet every need.

How can we find rest when responsibilities and needs feel overwhelming?

We can rest by remembering who God is and trusting Him with what we cannot control. Instead of trying to generate our own strength or have every answer, we can receive God’s help, listen for His wisdom, and be fully present where He has placed us. Rest becomes an act of trust because God continues to work even when we stop.
