The Day of Salvation

March 27, 2022 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

“In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation. —2 Corinthians 6:2 ESV

When it comes to God’s judgment on sin, it’s helpful to realize He not only deals with individuals but nations as well. Nations that honor God, God will honor. Nations that despise God and rebel against Him will be dealt with in divine judgment.

However, we also need to realize that God’s judgment is often delayed. God is giving people time to repent so that when judgment does come, no one can say He didn’t give them a chance.

At some point when the cup of man’s sin is full and overflows, God’s patience will be exhausted, and His judgment will be final. There will be no more opportunity for repentance. That’s why God’s Word says, “now is the day of salvation.” Repent now—whether you are an individual or a nation. Repent because God’s judgment is real! It may be delayed, but it will come. And there will be no more chances.

Make it Personal

Pray for the people of your nation, that they would repent of their sin before God’s final judgment comes.
