A Solid Foundation

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. —Proverbs 22:6

When I first became a mom, I wanted to do it right, so I tried to study the Bible to see what God said about children. Not only did I discover that children are a gift from God, I learned they are also a reward—and they keep on giving.

Another thing I realized is that I must be avail- able to my children, to train and nurture them. Proverbs 29:17 says, “Discipline your son, and he will give you rest; he will give delight to your heart.” We live in this sin-cursed earth. The enemy doesn’t want anything that can bring glory to God to remain pure. We’ve got to be available so we can share the Truth of God’s Word with our kids so that when they go through their “stuff,” they have a solid foundation.

Be available to not only teach your children but to sit and interact with them. Take time to celebrate these gifts He has given you.

Make it Personal

How can you make yourself more available to your children in order to share the Truth of God’s Word?
