The Master Knitter

You knitted me together in my mother’s womb. —Psalm 139:13

When you were born, you had 60,000 miles of blood vessels in your body. By the time you became an adult, it expanded to 100,000 miles, a length that would wrap around the earth four times!

And it only takes sixty seconds for the blood to go from your heart all the way through that 100,000 miles and back to your heart again. It’s the oxygen moving through our bodies that gives us the ability to be alive!

Doctors have been been trying for years to figure out how to fix broken blood vessels. The only thing they’ve discovered is to take human skin and other cells and knit them together. They know if they figure out how to knit correctly, one day they’ll be able to create a blood vessel.

God knit us together in our mother’s womb, and when He did, He pushed breath through us. It’s that breath—only powered by Him—that gives us the ability to live. Every breath you breathe is a gift from God! He is worthy of every single one.

Make it Personal

Thank God for how He “knit” you together and gave you life. What are ways you can praise Him for that today?
