Happy Ending

November 27, 2020 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. —Revelation 22:4

Disappointment entered the world as a consequence of sin. As fallen people in a broken world, we will continue to experience it. And yet what happened in the Garden of Eden won’t have the final word. The curse will be reversed, and our deepest longings will be fulfilled.

Seeing God, being in His presence, knowing Him fully, even as we’re fully known (1 Cor. 13:12) . . . this is the deepest longing of our souls. Every unfulfilled longing we face right now, every disappointment that’s yet to come, will ultimately fade away when we see Him face to face.

You may be dealing with a prodigal child or living in a troubled marriage. You may be dealing with physical issues, medical diagnoses, or physical pain. How can you endure? How can you remain faithful? How can you keep from throwing in the towel? How can you overcome? You look ahead.

You look beyond the now. You lift your eyes up and look to the promises being fulfilled. You keep your eyes on the finish line.

Make it Personal

How does the promise of Revelation 22:4 give you hope in what you’re dealing with right now?
