Hang in There

“The one who conquers and who keeps my works to the end: I will give him authority over the nations.” —Revelation 2:26

Do you ever get tired of feeling you’re constantly going against the flow? It would be much easier just to live and let live. But as tiring as it may be to continually uphold standards of holiness, we’re called by God to “hold on” to the truth He has revealed to us in Scripture (Rev. 2:25). Though the path of least resistance promises a more relaxed journey, we’re meant to be on the watch for that which can lead us and others astray. That’s part of our calling.

But thankfully the perseverance that comes from true, saving faith—God’s empowerment to go against the grain over the long haul—comes with promises that make it well worth the effort. Those who learn to rule their passions in this age, those who care about His kingdom coming and His will being done on earth as it is in heaven, will one day rule with Christ in the age to come. Then the weariness and resistance will be forever over.
