Growing up I was convinced that modesty = old-fashioned. I looked around and noticed that the stores where most of my friends shopped weren’t pushing long shorts, classy shirts, or knee-length skirts. Because the fashion industry was the loudest voice in my ear on the subject of clothing, I assumed they were the standard on what equaled fashion and what equaled old-fashioned.
A Modern Fashion/Modest Clothing Collision
As a young woman I heard plenty on modesty, but honestly, I wasn’t all that excited about the style of clothing being promoted. I looked around and found very few Christians promoting modest, fashionable clothing.
Modesty doesn’t have to be boring and old-fashioned.
I wanted to honor God (and look cute), so I decided to study up on the topic of modesty. I really wanted to know God’s heart on the issue. Was it possible to combine modern fashion with modest clothing? After several years of research, I’ve decided that modesty and modern fashion truly can go hand in hand. (Yay!)
Announcing Project Modesty
Project Modesty has been on my heart for a long, long time. All that research has fueled a passion to help girls understand that modesty doesn’t have to be boring and old-fashioned. Because of the major misconceptions about modesty, my sister Kristen and I decided to create a video and ebook to help set the record straight. These are the tools I wish I had earlier in my own life. My prayer is that this ebook and video will change your perspective on modesty and give you fresh inspiration on how to incorporate fashion into your wardrobe.

The Project Modesty video gives you a taste of what you’ll find inside the ebook. The video features my sisters and I showing you our tips, tricks, and favorite looks for modest fashion. We take you through the main pieces of clothing (i.e. shirts, pants, shorts, skirts, and dresses) and show you how to style those pieces, as well as how to make difficult pieces work.
