Today’s psalms include the majority of the Hallel Psalms, which praise God for delivering His people from Egypt. “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his faithful love endures forever” (Psalm 118:1).
Before you begin
Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Review
Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.
Reflect
Psalm 117 is both the middle chapter of the Bible and the shortest chapter by word count and number of verses, yet its purpose is clear: a universal call to praise. All nations and all peoples are called to praise the Lord. What is your heart praising Him for today?
O Lord, when I am in distress, I dare not look to anyone or anything less than You for help. You will never abandon me; You will never fail or disappoint. You are worthy of all my trust. Amen.1
Respond
Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
Takeaway Thought
What key verse or insight will you take with you into your day?
The LORD’S merciful kindness is good toward us! His truth endures forever. For this reason we should always praise and give Him thanks.
God's loving kindness is everlasting. And He is for me.
