Read through the Bible, Day 34

In today's reading, God instructs the Israelites to observe a Sabbath year and the Year of Jubilee, reminding them that He is the One who provides, restores, and sets them free.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Leviticus 24–27

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

How does the hope of the ultimate Jubilee when Christ returns shape your perspective on current events—both personally and in the world around you?

"God made an agreement with the Israelites. He promised that if they obeyed Him, they would be blessed. They would have families and the land would produce crops. If they disobeyed His laws, there would be natural consequences of their disobedience, like famine and hunger, military oppression, etc." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
