Today we begin reading the book of Daniel. In these chapters, Daniel and his friends enter Babylonian exile and remain faithful to God, receiving wisdom and favor. God then reveals Nebuchadnezzar’s dream to Daniel.

Nebuchadnezzar’s dream showed earthly kingdoms rising and falling. What comfort does God’s unshakable kingdom offer you in a world full of uncertainty?
This plunder of the temple was a fitting symbol of what had already taken place in the hearts of God’s people. Despite years of patient warnings urging them to repent and return to their God, who was waiting to receive them with mercy and blessing, they had repeatedly refused.
