Read through the Bible, Day 214

We are the clay and You, O God, are the Potter. Open the heavens and come down; make Your name known among the nations.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Isaiah 64–66

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

How desperately do you long for God to tear open the heavens over your life—or your church— right now?

O Lord, You are our Father and we are Your people. But many of our lives, homes, and churches, intended to be “holy and beautiful” houses of praise, are in disrepair, even in ruins. We plead: “Look down from heaven,” and yes, “tear the heavens open and come down.” Visit us as we call upon Your name. —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
