Read through the Bible, Day 213

Be encouraged today as you read of the Spirit-anointed Messiah, who comes to bind up the brokenhearted and proclaim liberty to captives. He will turn mourning into gladness and ashes into beauty.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Isaiah 61–63

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

What “ashes” in your life do you need to surrender to Jesus today?

Even your darkest circumstances can be redeemed. Because of God’s faithfulness, there will be joy at the end of every heartache. There will be beauty coming out of ashes. —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
