Read through the Bible, Day 183

As the book of Proverbs opens, we’re invited to learn the rich and practical wisdom of God. These chapters reveal the worth of wisdom and the happiness it brings, while also warning us about the dangers of ignoring God’s instruction.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Proverbs 1–3

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

What does it look like for you to trust in the Lord with all your heart? Is there an area where you may be leaning on your own understanding instead?

Wisdom is the ability to see all of life from God’s perspective. It is more than knowledge; it’s being able to take that knowledge and act accordingly. —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
