Read through the Bible, Day 115

While Manasseh’s long reign plunged Judah into darkness and idolatry, his grandson Josiah sought the Lord with all his heart and led the people back to Him. When God’s Word was rediscovered, it brought conviction and the power to restore even the darkest hearts.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

2 Kings 20–22

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

Are there any areas of God’s Word that have been “lost” or neglected in your life? What steps can you take to rediscover them and put them into practice?

"The closer we get to God, the more clearly we will see ourselves as we really are. As long as we compare ourselves to others, we can always find someone who makes us feel good about how well we are doing. But when we step into the light of God’s holiness, our lives are brought into sharp relief." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
