Read through the Bible, Day 106

What happens after the high drama of Elijah’s battle on Mount Carmel? He experiences a time of frailty, weakness, and emotional despair, when the Lord provides tender care for His servant.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

1 Kings 19–20

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

Have you ever felt spiritually or emotionally exhausted after a victory or achievement? How did you experience God’s care in that time?

"For followers of Christ, any resistance to the will of God will keep us from enjoying an abundant life and will create barriers in our fellowship with God. But our God abounds in mercy and grace; He is willing to offer a full and complete pardon to those who lay down their weapons." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
