Surrounded by Angels

Woman: There's so much going on in the world, we just moved into a gated community. I love it; it's great! There's a fence around the neighborhood and there's a security guard right at the gate.

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: If you’re a child of God, you have protection that’s far better than any earthly fence or gate. I think of the story of Elisha’s servant. He looked around and saw the Syrian army surrounding the town where he and Elisha were staying. Their orders were to capture Elisha in the morning.

But the prophet wasn’t afraid. Elisha asked God to open the servant’s eyes, and when He did, the servant realized that the hills were full of an angelic army.

When we focus on surface appearances, it’s easy to become fearful. But if our eyes were opened, we’d realize that angels surround us. So we don’t have to live in fear, because nothing can get through to us without God’s permission.
