Surrendered for Eternity

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: We all know that Jesus was the perfect picture of a surrendered servant when He was here on earth. But did you realize that Jesus will remain the surrendered servant for eternity?

The gospel of Luke gives us a moving picture of what will happen when Christ comes again. It says, “I tell you the truth, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them” (12:37).

Can you imagine that? The King and Lord of the universe will put on a servant’s uniform and wait on us. It takes my breath away!

Do you ever get tired of serving others? Maybe picking up after your kids has become a chore. Or maybe you’re caring for an elderly parent who doesn’t seem to appreciate it. Let me encourage you with this thought: You’re never more like Jesus than when you surrender your own rights and take the role of a servant.
