Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: All of us are going to experience hurt in this life.

Woman: How could she lie like that? I thought we were so close.

Man: I don’t think I’ll ever forget what that teacher said that day. I was so embarrassed.

Nancy: All of us will be wronged. All of us will go through pain. But we don’t have to be victims.

Man: Ever since that day, I’ve never gotten up to speak in front of another group.

Nancy: Are you being held captive by some aspect of your past? Here’s the bad news: As deep as that hurt is, you’re still responsible for how you respond. But here’s the good news: You don’t have to be a hopeless victim. God can give you grace to respond with forgiveness and healing.

Ask God to give you the power to forgive. And then ask Him for the power to move forward without being held hostage by your past.
