Mary’s and Joseph’s Story

Dannah Gresh: Here’s Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth, co-author of You Can Trust God to Write Your Story.

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Joseph was a normal working man.

Mary was a normal young woman preparing for marriage.

Mary:  It won’t be a big house, but we can make it nice.

Nancy: Neither of them had any idea that their lives would be forever changed by a visit from the angel Gabriel.

Gabriel: “Behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus.”

Nancy: The story that God wrote for this couple was anything but easy—shame and loss marked their lives as parents of Jesus. Mary and Joseph had no idea what their future would hold, but they were confident in the One who controls the future. So they said, “Yes, Lord.”

You won’t be called to raise God’s Son, but God may have other surprises in store for you. When those surprises come, will you trust Him enough to say, “Yes, Lord”?
