In Order to Be Happy

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: A lot of women think they have to have a husband in order to be happy.

Woman: Well, when I was growing up, having a boyfriend, and then a husband, seemed like the most important thing in my life.

Nancy: Marriage is a good gift from God. It’s His plan for most people. But following God’s plan, whatever it is, brings more joy to our lives than marriage does.

Woman: Getting married was so important to me that I didn’t wait for God to lead a believer into my life. I did things on my own, and now my husband and I haven’t really grown in our relationship. We don’t do very many things together. Most of my friends are at church, and most of his friends are at the bar.

Nancy: Are you looking for relationships to bring you happiness? Or are you looking to Christ for your joy and patiently trusting in His plan?
